Purchase, Shipping & Delivery
How does shipping work?
We believe in full price transparency. All of the artworks have a visible price which includes packing and insurance. The shipping costs will be automatically added during checkout. Oversize items require custom shipping quotations. If these occure, you will be told before checkout. Customs and VAT, if applicable are charged to the buyer by the shipping company.
The artworks are shipped directly from the studios of the artists. Packing and shipping is in the responsibility of the artist. TheArtists supervises the shipping process and makes sure that the artist delivers on time.
Insurance is provided through TheArtists with Segurio Insurance. Your artwork will be insured from the moment of hand-over to the transport company until the hand-over to the buyer and for the following four weeks.
You will receive a non binding offer with special conditions before the initial insurance runs out, which you can accept if you should wish to extend the insurance coverage with Segurio.
TheArtists can, on your behalf and at your costs, provide shipping services by third party shippers. The shipper will ship the artwork as your agent to the address designated by you. TheArtists is not liable for any damaged or lost artworks, which shall remain the responsibility of the third party shipping companies.
Can you ship to P.O. Boxes?
We can not ship to P.O. boxes for liability and insurance reasons. Please provide a full daytime delivery address as well as a contact phone number to ensure smooth delivery.
When will my order be shipped and delivered?
Processing and shipping times may vary according to the purchased artwork, its origin, and the shipping destination. Most orders are processed and shipped within a week. However, some orders may be processed faster, while others might take more time, particularly if they require framing, special packaging or handling.
Framing: if works are to be framed, they are framed by hand after the purchase and will then be shipped directly from the framemaker. This will affect the delivery date, please expect an extra 7 to 10 days.
When your order is shipped, you will receive a shipment confirmation email with a tracking number. You can check the status of your package and the estimated delivery date online by using the tracking number.
Do I need to sign for my package upon delivery?
Yes, all packages must be accepted and signed for upon delivery. Due to the valuable nature of artworks, packages should not be left unattended, and we strongly advise you to check that the packaging of the artwork is in good condition before approving a delivery. We will accept a signature of anyone present at the address.
How can I track my order?
As soon as you've purchase your artwork, TheArtists will keep you updated on your order status via email. The moment your artwork is shipped, you will receive a tracking number by email.
Do I need to pay import duties and taxes? How are they calculated?
International shipments are subject to duty and tax as determined by the customs of the importing country. If you are unsure, please contact your local customs department for further information before placing your order. You will be responsible for payment of those duties and taxes.
How can I cancel an order?
Please think twice before you order. This avoids unnecessary C02
emissions through returns. If you would still like to cancel your order,
please email us at: hello@theartists.net with your order number and reason for return.
What is the return and refund policy?
We are dedicated to providing our collectors with accurate descriptions and visuals of the artwork featured on our website. However, if you are not happy with your acquisition please email at: hello@theartists.net. According to EU Law you have 14 days to request a refund from the moment you receive the artwork. You must then return the artwork within 10 days from the day you requested a refund and you must pay for the cost of returning the artwork. We’ll gladly offer you a store credit within 10 days of receiving the artwork back. Please note that the cost of the return shipment remains your responsibility.
How do I ship an artwork I would like to return?
To return an artwork, please follow these guidelines:
- Repackage the artwork in its original condition using the original packaging materials used by the artist. If you have already disposed of the original packaging, you will be responsible for purchasing packaging materials and sending the artwork back to the artist safely.
- Arrange to send the packaged artwork directly back to the artist using a traceable shipping method.
- Email all shipping details including tracking number to: hello@theartists.net
Please note that TheArtists is not responsible for undelivered returns, we would therefore strongly recommend you to contact the insurance company Segurio with the complete shipment information before returning the artwork.
What should I do when receiving a damaged artwork?
We strongly advise you to check that the packaging of the artwork is in good condition before approving a delivery.
In the unfortunate event that your order arrives damaged, we ask you to take a picture of the shipping container it arrived in and the artwork itself and email us immediately at hello@theartists.net. We will be quickly in touch, and will organise the return of the artwork.
Who will pay for the return shipment costs?
Unless you return an artwork damaged from delivery, the return shipment costs remain your responsibility.
