Additional information

«The Curtain is imagined to be hung, stretched on the facade of a building. Typical in domestic spaces of Turkey, such ornamented curtains are important elements to create privacy, to highlight the indoor-outdoor difference. Growing up in Turkey, as a Muslim, for me it was a very important thing to know to which extend to show myself and my body. In a similar fashion, with the increase of social media use, we're faced with such questions more. Hanging this important element of privacy on the facade of a building is a metaphorical gesture of contemplating on the confusion of inside-outside/public-private dichotomies.» Göksu Kunak

Please not that 10% of each sale of Göksu Kunak’s works will go to queer sex workers in Turkey (5% from TheArtists’ share and 5% from Kunak’s share).

I am interested in the effects of the patriarchy in the passing of ordinary moments.
