«Let us Please Populate is the portrait of body mask made of hand cut and hand melted leaves that have been assembled again. A speculative fiction based on a prediction from Nostradamus where plants are unable to perform photosynthesis, because the earth is on fire, filling the clouds with extreme dust, blocking any sunlight. No photosynthesis means no greenness in plant life. No plants procreating, no life possible. In order to survive humans and plants will have to merge together, resulting in these lettuce leaves like figures. In this work the organic, inorganic and the manipulated are synergistically in osmosis.» Mette Sterre
