Additional information

The artwork Cover is a wall sculpture consisting of four objects measuring 31 x 30 x 4 cm (yellow), 40 x 37 x 4 cm (pink), 32 x 23 x 3 cm (blue) and 44 x 37 x 4 cm (purple). They are mounted on the wall with nails.

"This series explores the duality of innocence and seduction by visually evoking the feeling of temptation (without using candy), seeking to unravel the hidden connection between seduction and abuse.

For me the process is as important as the final product. I always tend to create my objects in a specific state of mind, with a specific sensation in mind.
For this series I used construction plaster on canvas. While waiting for it to harden, I covered the canvas with a plastic bag to create an aggressive texture. Then I removed the plastic and subtracted some areas with my bare fingers to add human touch to it (struggle).

Colors have emotional associations, I'm interested in the psychological effects they have on our bodies. Colors of the red spectrum (magenta, yellow) are known as warm colors and evoke emotions ranging from feelings of warmth and comfort to feelings of anger and hostility. Colors on the blue spectrum (blue, purple), known as cool colors, represent feelings of sadness or indifference."

My work challenges these notions to uncover the authentic experience of women, provide them with a voice so often silenced, share their stories with audiences internationally and most importantly, empower women around the world.
