The artwork Nails in a pillow consists of two sculptures, measuring 27 x 20 x 6 cm and 33 x 23 x 6 cm. They are mounted on the wall with nails.
"I was trying to recreate a feeling that a friend of mine described to me. A feeling of insecurity every time she put her head on a pillow, when it was supposed be the place where she could rest. She always felt the opposite though, her thoughts like sharp tools destroying her sanity.
So I approached this piece by investigating the feeling of discomfort; by creating a shape similar to a pillow, evoking the sentiment of isolation; by dissecting the anatomy of time when watching objects take form and shape through the process of hardening."

My work challenges these notions to uncover the authentic experience of women, provide them with a voice so often silenced, share their stories with audiences internationally and most importantly, empower women around the world.
